Challenge #9: Cupcakes for Dinner!

Saturday, November 3, 2012
5:30-7:00 p.m.
Madison Senior Center, 330 W. Mifflin St., Madison, WI

$10 at the door or in advance at Brown Paper Tickets

The last challenge of 2012 was wonderful! Bakers put forth their best efforts interpreting the theme Cupcakes For Dinner, and came up with some incredible things! All profits benefit the Alzheimer's Association, and we raised nearly 1K for them! THANKS EVERYONE!

For this event, our winner for Best Taste was Kristi Takasaki; she brought a Breakfast for Dinner Cupcake! French Toast Cupcake, Maple Buttercream, and Candied Bacon. Our winner for Best Display was Giovanna Dimperio with her Burgers and Brew Cupcake: Stout Cupcake, topped with a mini burger made from Nilla Wafers, sandwiched with a chocolate ganache filling. Photos are on our Facebook page; be sure to check them out!

Iron Cupcake Madison hosts regular events to promote creative baking and eating, and in general: good times fueled by sugar and whatever beverage you prefer. We choose an ingredient or a theme, and let our bakers give it their best shot! Anyone can bake, and everyone can vote!!

Since our first challenge in October of 2010, we've raised over $6000 for Madison area non-profits, including REAP, Second Harvest, Literacy Network, Porchlight, the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Alzheimer's Association. This may be small potatoes but it is a wonderful way to build community and put our skills (and potatoes) to good work!

Each ticket will allow you to taste 10 mini cupcakes, and vote your favorite. There will be winners in several categories, and door prizes galore! We will be selling additional tasting tickets at the event, if you'd like to taste even more!

Beverages available for purchase. Beverage choices vary, depending on venue. Families with small children may share tickets; I'd rather not be responsible for toddlers with 10 mini cupcakes under their belts!

Professional tasters bring egg cartons, and Tupperware! Great ideas for ways to keep your cupcakes safe, even on the trip home.

If you plan on buying your ticket at the door please note: CASH ONLY and EXACT CHANGE APPRECIATED.

Proceeds of this event benefit the Alzheimer's Association!
